About me

Hello World! Welcome to LivDawn! 

When I was 16 years old, My mom surprised me with this blog and until now I had left it on the shelf collecting dust as I went through the storms of my early teens. I am now 19 years old and about to step into my twenties. Terrifying right?! Currently, I am in my Junior year of college at my beloved institution: Meredith College! I am a double major in dance and psychology and I hope to go on to Grad school and pursue my master’s in Dance Movement therapy and become licensed as a clinical psychologist. After that? CHANGE THE WORLD. Kidding! Mostly…

Anyway, before college I lived on, what my family and I jokingly call a farm with our odd number of chickens, dogs, cats, and two horses: the infamous Ted and Tempestous Cookie. Then, when  I was twelve years old I had the privilege of moving an ocean away and living in Germany, traveling the world, and eating marvelous food before I moved back to the States.

I was homeschooled for the majority of my life up until I was accepted into college and it allowed me to do so many things like traveling, exploring careers, and spending time with my family- who mean the world to me. I am proud to say that I am a big sister to two of the brainiest most incredible little brothers one could ask for and I am so beyond proud of them.

Besides my family two biggest passions are my faith and dance. Since coming to college; my journey in my faith has been a rocky one, but those roots that were planted in me when I was younger and the work being done in me now is a true testimony of how God can change your life. I am so lucky to be able to continue to grow in my faith and have a community to not only support me but that I can minister to, a dream that came to fruition last year when I had the opportunity to lead not one but two life groups on my campus and NCSU.

Dance first came into my life when I was 5 years old and since then I’ve been hooked! I love all kinds of dance and just the freedom, release, and healing that it brings. So, it’s something that I decided I want to share with the rest of the world.

Some final fun facts about me are: I love love love to read, especially classics; and my especial favorites are Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott. (No matter what anyone tells you the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice is ALWAYS better!), I love movies, especially musicals ( Sound of Music anyone?!) and I have chronic addiction to the Trolls franchise. I love animals, a joy I share with my mom who has the propensity to bring home new animals to the dismay of my Dad and the delight of us kids! Creativity has always been my Jam, whether it’s fashion, dance, art, or cooking ( which admittedly often ends in disaster) I am constantly experimenting.
